I don't know much about Fife.  What's wrong with him?  What's wrong with Coyne?  He's a non-partisan moderate.

He's alright, but some of his ideas are pretty out there.

Quote
I looked up Fife, he broke the Duffy/Nigel Wright expense scandal and the SNC Lavalin scandal.

G&M also employ this journalist who is very progressive left:  https://www.theglobeandmail.com/authors/denise-balkissoon/

I think that put a lot of pressure on him. He's very much a gotcha journalist now.

I think Coyne is with the National Post, which is a terrible paper.   But I actually don’t mind Coyne.

The National Post is bad yes.

media hyped non-scandal; some, certainly not the waldo, have suggested that St. Jody and/or Kinsellout fed Fife his "exclusive" bullshyte. Ethical newspapers hold their reporters to much higher standards than that of the overt PM Trudeau/Liberal hating "journalist" Fife!

So you call your political opponents derogatory nicknames like "weakAndy" and deride journalists that print truth-bombs that go against your party/interests.  You and your boy Trump have much in common.

weakAndy is clearly a label of endearment... no, wait... per your statement, it is a waldo "truth-bomb"!

good to read your measure of a "journalist" is Fife's biased history against PM Trudeau/Liberals - and his "truth-bombs" concerning the media-hyped and Scheer/CPC fueled SNC-bullshyte were nothing but subjective interpretation; that at the end of it all saw a prosecution settlement offer that was significantly less than what a negotiated DPA would have realized! How's that truth-bomb, hey!  ;D

Fife broke the Duffy/Nigel Wright scandal.  Very anti-Liberal of him!  The evidence of him or the G&M being anti-Liberal/Trudeau is what exactly?  Because the waldo's bum is still red because his truth-bomb helped downgrade your sacred cow to a minority gov?

The JWR/SNC truth-bomb was so subjective and bullshyte that Mario Dion, the ethics watchdog, an independent officer of parliament appointed by the Liberals, "concluded the prime minister broke ethics law when he pressured Jody Wilson-Raybould, who was attorney general at the time, to halt the criminal prosecution of Montreal firm SNC-Lavalin".  https://globalnews.ca/news/5771789/mario-dion-ethics-commissioner-2/

Me thinks it's ok for a journalist to write a story about it.

standard-fare from the self-promoting Fife! ;D Imagine, yet another "anonymous source" fueling yet another breaking Fife gem!

Quote
On May 14, 2013, Fife reported that Nigel Wright gave Duffy “cash for the repayment” of his dubious living expense claims. That transaction, which amounted to more than $90,000, later formed the basis for the three bribery-related charges laid against him. It was the end of their 30-year friendship: Fife and Duffy have not spoken since.

c'mon ConspiracyG - it seems Opposition Parties were quite against your boy Mario's appointment: Opposition once slammed appointment of ethics watchdog behind SNC-Lavalin report... and now he's their BFF! Of course, he's Harper's guy from the very beginning, where Harper appointed him to 2 key positions - unfortunately for him, in 2014, AG Michael Ferguson publicly rebuked Dion's performance as the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner of Canada. And by-the-by, PM Trudeau (and top PMO aides) recused themselves from the Dion appointment as the then Commissioner was investigating the so-called "Aga Khan" affair at the time.[/quote]

in the ensuing time period, several additional critiques of the failed Dion report have come forward... beyond the 2 the waldo initially made. Reading you hyping the failed Dion report is gold, real gold!  ;D

Quote from: Errol Mendes - professor of constitutional and international law, president of the International Commission of Jurists, Canada, and a recipient of the Order of Ontario
There seems to have been a serious misinterpretation of his own act and his jurisdiction by the ethics commissioner. There needs to be far more in depth discussion of the accuracy of this report among government, the media and indeed the public deciding whether the report will influence their vote in the coming election.
.
.
While there can be legitimate discussions on whether the prime minister and his officials crossed a line in their attempts to influence the decision of the attorney general in terms of the Shawcross doctrine, in terms of ministerial and cabinet responsibility, it should not be part of any application of Section 9 of the Conflict of Interest Act.

joined by Toronto lawyer, David Hamer: his review detailing examples of errors and misinterpretations within the Ethics Commissioner's Report:

good times! I just read a post where I challenged {certain} members to cite/name any prominent authoritative persons who went on the record agreeing with the failed analysis done by Dion in his "ethics report"... still waiting ConspiracyG, still waiting!

As expected, this story got little interest here or on my Facebook feed.  I am considering renaming the thread...

Or find new Facebook friends.  The type to get properly outraged about these things.

This should be a front page scandal...

If more allegations come out across the country, it may be.

Listen to this question.

I like it...  she's like a Twitter Bot...  but slightly more real.

Most Twitter tweeters calling to "re-open 'Murica" are bots....  I wonder if Shady is a bot...  or if he just takes his speaking points from bots....

https://www.businessinsider.com/nearly-half-of-reopen-america-twitter-accounts-are-bots-report-2020-5

Quote
Carnegie Mellon University researchers analyzed over 200 million tweets discussing COVID-19 and related issues since January and found that roughly half the accounts — including 62% of the 1,000 most influential retweeters — appeared to be bots, they said in a report published this week.

Listen to this question.

I find it odd that liberals will trash FOX because they hammered on Obama every day for 8 years, but then will watch CNN and MSNBC who have hammered on Trump every day the last 4 years.  And conservatives will trash CNN and MSNBC for trashing on Trump for the last 4 years, while their fave channel FOX trashed on Obama for 8 years.

People have hypocritical double-standards.
