What could they do to coerce him, exactly? Force him to sell his properties at a profit?

He has a mortgage with a bank (a bank that is operating under UK regulations). Nothing more, nothing less.

The articles  about it always say “he owes the Chinese” money....   they breeze by the point fact that it’s a regulated bank and they never actually say how the Chinese would blackmail him through a bank....

So maybe Wilber and ConspiratardGraham will explain it to us.

Cons are choosing from these 4 idiots?  Good lord...  Just give Trudeau the trophy now...

Lewis said the party should do more to promote family as "the cornerstone, the bedrock of our society," and, if elected, she should enact parental rights legislation.

MacKay's environment plan reads much like what outgoing leader Andrew Scheer pitched to voters in the last election — a promise to achieve "advances in technology," invest in "carbon sequestration" and to sell Canadian natural gas around the world to displace coal as a source of energy.

He said the problem with Scheer's plan was not the substance but how it was communicated to voters.

Speaking to reporters after the debate, O'Toole dodged questions about whether he thought systemic racism exists in Canada but promised to tackle prejudice.

"There is racism in Canada. We will stamp out any instances of racism, unfairness or discrimination.

O'Toole's campaign issued the release late Friday, saying it had filed a formal complaint with police seeking an investigation into MacKay's organization.

The complaint involves the theft of confidential campaign and strategy data and alleges the O'Toole campaign's systems were hacked earlier this week.

The right for their kids not to learn about LGB and especially TQ people, and sex in general, I expect.

If Peter McKay is counting on gas replacing coal, he hasn't checked the price of gas or read a damn thing this year!

They also are proposing rights for parents to have a say in whether their trans kids can get hormone therapy etc.

oh ya! Who knew the election results would be announced this coming Sunday? Who knew?  ;D

mail-in ballots are due tomorrow, Friday at 5 p.m. ET

=> Leslyn Lewis: It's time to find the commonalities that bind us together as a nation

=> Derek Sloan: It's time to elect a government that puts the interests of Canadians first

=> Erin O'Toole: Canadians want leaders who respect them enough to tell them the truth

=> Peter MacKay: At this time of crisis, Canada needs the Conservative Party to be there for it again

Who do you LIKE Waldo ?

-Who do you think will win ?
-Who do you think is the best candidate ?
-Who do you think would fare best against Trudeau ?

Personally, this election makes more of a difference on whether I vote Liberal or not.  If they elect a wingnut, basically anybody but McKay, I will vote Trudeau in protest.  Otherwise, I will look at local candidates this time, in all likelihood.

MacKay is their only chance of unseating the Liberals.

to me, MacKay carries too much Harper baggage - notwithstanding his destruction of the Progressive Conservative Party. Lewis isn't a serious candidate - if either O'Tool or Sloan wins... then that will lead to the ultimate demise of the CPC - a 'win-win scenario'!  ;D

Whomever they choose, this has been a group of uninspiring, and some downright dangerous, characters.  The non-social conservatives kowtowing to that part of the party.  It actually disgusts me.
