Nobody is there to advocate for poor black men, especially if so many are in jail and poor people in general tend not to vote or are educated enough to understand the issues deeply, so nobody wants to fix this.
Everybody wants to fix this, and there are MANY advocates for poor black men. The problem is no one knows how to fix this without a truly massive infusion of money into the inner cities for security, education, housing, skills training and job incentives.
Same with natives in Canada. It's a tragedy.
There is a whole industry advocating for natives in Canada. Unfortunately, the reserve system is economically unsustainable and no one wants to face that. Plus, far too much of the money spent on 'natives' actually goes to this industry.
Same with all those kids taken from abusive homes living in group homes. Many end up on the street. It's like a modern residential school systems, but through negligence rather than misplaced or bad intentions.
We decided as a society to get rid of orphanages and any other form of public residences for kids. That was because they were open to abuse back in the day. Unfortunately thee's little evidence group homes or foster homes are any better because they lack the kind of emotional security a child needs. Ie, the people change regularly and there's no ongoing 'family' or people to hang on to or have confidence in.
