Perhaps Tyler Shandro has access to information that has not yet been made public regarding how the "gun buyback" will be implemented.  Last I heard they were still doing white-papers and had no idea what the **** was going on. If Shandro has received a request for police resources, that could indicate they have come up with some portion of a plan (or 12% of a plan, or perhaps a concept, or even a notion.)

Shandro has no credibility - the mess he left as Alberta's prior Health Minister is a testament to his incompetence!

in any case, the waldo finds it hilarious that the federal government may have {earlier established} designs on circumventing this azzholiness of both Alberta & Saskatchewan - see recently closed RFI intended to gauge whether there is any interest in the private sector to implement the “assault weapon” ban and buy-back program on behalf of the federal government.

hey now kimmo - in the list of firearms within the buy-back program, didja not notice the {most prominent} phrasing, "variants or modified versions of"?

Certainly.  As I pointed out, actual "assault weapons" weapons were already prohibited in Canada; the newly prohibited weapons that were (until May 2020) available to Canadian consumers were not actual assault rifles but rather semi-automatic versions of them.

The chart you have posted says "Assault-Style Firearms".  Assault style. They themselves make it abundantly clear it's about aesthetics.

Case closed.

He might be an idiot, but he's not wrong about this.

Yeah. They put out some RFQs and got "No-Bid" from everybody they contacted. Your point? They have to enlist the RCMP to do this because private industry doesn't want to touch this fiasco with a 10 foot pole? Is that what you're saying?

case reopened: are you challenging Shady's ignorance and strawmaning concerning the word/meaning of "style"? Case closed - carry on!

jeezaz kimmo! Your reply aligns with the {speculative} claims of a prominent gunner rag. Don't let the waldo's busting your bubble get you down... cause IBM was chosen to help design/implement the buyback program.

Feds turn to 15 private consulting firms to design, run firearm buyback program

Truth 👇👇👇

A LITTLE GUN HISTORY

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

56 million defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control:

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are "citizens". Without them, we are "subjects".
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this antigun-control message to all of your friends.

I didn’t write it, I’m just sharing it.  Because it’s true.

I could tell you didn't write it because, even though it's poorly written, it's far beyond your limited abilities.

That’s fine, but irrelevant to the points addressed in the post.

Posting a "FW:RE:FW:FW:FW:FW" copypasta list is ty most Boomer move you've pulled yet.

The idea that "gun control" is to blame for genocides or that the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were armed, or that Switzerland doesn't have gun control is something only an idiot grandma would believe.

The problem with plagiarizing posts from Facebook that are meant for gullible idiots is they have usually been debunked before you even steal them.  😆
