Yes, if there aren't enough recent shootings to make it "inappropriate" to talk about gun control, you then claim it's inappropriate to refer to a shooting from 33 years ago.
I don't see a problem with talking about it, I do see a problem when legislation is used against rural people in order to get votes in urban centres.
