Alberta poll

FRIGGIN ALBERTA
"The economy has been relatively strong but Trudeau has chosen to run deficits year after year & has said will continue to do so well into the future.  This means we'll be in a worse & more vulnerable financial position when a recession hits when we HAVE to run deficits again." - Me, Oct. 3, 2019

My favourite part is that you can see how everyone answered, so you know exactly who thinks you're an ****.

Is Alberta seriously considering secession? Some of you mentioned something to that effect but we wouldn't hear it in the MSM in the States. (most of us are occupied with our presidential primaries right now.)

No but it could become a serious issue at some time in future.

Would Ottawa just "let it go" if it happened? Or deploy troops? Or, like the Spanish did with Catalonia, arrest the ringleaders?

Alberta would invade southeastern and northeastern BC and annex those portions, much like Russia and Crimea.  Jason Kenney would be leading the charge on horseback.  With cowboy hat drawn tight.

Well, Quebec held two referendums on separation and no one was arrested but it seems they are held to a different standard, so who knows.

Maybe JT should just invite Kenney into the ring for a boxing match. Compared to Patrick Brazeau, Kenny should be first round KO.

Yes, Albertans would be rounded up and tried for treason if they try and separate.   ::)

Kenney is no Putin, not by a long shot, especially not after I saw recent pictures of him.

The might go voluntarily, they certainly have more in common with Alberta than they do with the lower mainland and island. They are even in the same time zone as Alberta.

They can't go voluntarily...   There is no mechanism for a handful of people in a region to remove that region from Canada/BC and join a different province/country.   You know this, and yet you still made such an asinine comment.    What you post makes zero sense and has zero basis in fact.  I think you've become a troll on this site because the election made you grumpy.

Once you open the can of worms, anything can happen. You are talking about forcibly keeping people in confederation against their will.
