I highly recommend Our Crowd which charts the migration of Jews from anti-Semitic Germany to New York in the 19th century.  You can't be an anti-semite after you read those stories.  Their own subjugation by prejudiced governments was the cause for their ultimate success in America.   

There probably isn't a word for kharma in Yiddish but this would be an example.  Mazel Tov, Jews.
