I wouldn't mind seeing the Squad cut a deal with McCarthy though, just to neuter the Republican wingnut faction and make MAGAs freak out that mainstream Republicans cut a deal with AOC. Most of the party would become RINOs to them (if they aren't already) and it could then splinter into oblivion.
Instead, they likely cave and give the Freedumb caucus everything they want and go to oblivion that way. But that will get ugly.

The contours of a deal that could make Republican leader Kevin McCarthy the House Speaker have begun to emerge after three gruelling days and 11 failed votes in a political spectacle unseen in a century. It has left Republicans in disarray and exposed anew the fragility of American democracy.

Imagine my surprise.

Walgreens executive says ‘maybe we cried too much last year’ about theft

Quote
A top Walgreens executive on Thursday acknowledged the company may have overblown concerns about thefts in their stores after shrinkage stabilized over the last year.

During an earnings call, the company’s chief financial officer, James Kehoe, said shrinkage was about 3.5% of sales last year but that number is now closer to the “mid twos.” He also said the company would consider moving away from hiring private security guards.

“Maybe we cried too much last year,” Kehoe said. “We’re stabilized,” he added, saying the company is “quite happy with where we are.”

The GOP are emboldened to openly admit they are a white supremacist party.

My favourite part is Gaetz's sad, shamed, shocked "okay" after being put in line. Whatever he was told, it must have been a doozy.

It now appears George Santos was funded by Russian oligarchs. I thought it was weird he was never vetted by the GOP before his campaign, but I guess that explains it.

When they aren't visiting Moscow, they're engaging in domestic terrorism. Could it be related?

Hmmm.... serial liar, with a poor history of financial crimes and other money issues, and now with suspicious links to Russia.

Maybe he's trying to set himself up as Trump's running mate in 2024?
