You’re denser than a brick wall.  The strategic petroleum reserve is for national security emergencies.  It’s not for delaying a ten cent a gallon rise in the price of gasoline.  It’s not for using to temporarily shield voters from the results of terrible policy and diplomacy.  You’re a brain dead political hack.

The Republican majority congress started selling off oil from the strategic reserve to pay down the deficit in 2015, I didn’t hear you crying about that.

Anyway I personally don’t care if Biden is trying to lower gas prices to help the Democrats in the mid terms because the GOP is a party of psychopaths, grifters and fascists and there’s nothing wrong with doing whatever possible to try to keep them from power.

The Republican majority congress started selling off oil from the strategic reserve to pay down the deficit in 2015, I didn’t hear you crying about that.
Not only that, you also have this:

From: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_Petroleum_Reserve_(United_States)
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, enacted in December 2017, calls for the sale of 7 million barrels over the two-year period of FY 2026 through FY 2027.

So at the time, the REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED congress passed a law, approved by the REPUBLICAN president Stubby McBonespurs, that called for the sale of millions of barrels of oil, at a time when they don't even know if there WILL be a need for it.

Also from: https://www.cato.org/blog/strategic-petroleum-reserve-was-never-used-strategically-1
The 1975 law establishing a strategic reserve proposed drawing down as much as necessary if “there is a significant reduction in supply which… [results in a] severe increase in the price of petroleum products… likely to cause a major adverse impact on the national economy.”

(And production cuts by OPEC certainly counts as a supply issue.)

So even the people who initially set up the strategic reserves considered oil prices (rather than emergencies/disasters) to be an important factor in its use.

You know, I am impressed... Fox news has really shown the sort of hard-hitting, deep investigative journalism that we would expect from a major news organization!

From: https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/tan-suit-2-0-fox-005935568.html
Jesse Watters on Monday harped on President Joe Biden’s choice to eat an ice cream cone at a Baskin Robbins in Portland, Oregon, over the weekend, complaining that his methods of doing so were “too casual a look for the country.”. The Fox host also made a bizarre list and do’s and don’ts for ice cream eating...

I mean, in terms of political scandals, this is right up there with Obama wearing a tan suit, and using the wrong type of mustard!

At a time when the previous (republican!) president is being investigated for stealing classified government documents, attempting to overthrown democracy, and various types of business fraud, leave it to fox to really remind us what is important when it comes to politics.

(I wonder if one of the "do's and don'ts" for eating ice cream involves throwing it against a wall, or is throwing food only acceptable if its a republican?)

lmao

Quote
“A man should never lick an ice cream cone in public,” Watters declared. “A man can only eat ice cream on vacation. I guess Biden is always on vacation, so it makes sense. But if a man needs to eat ice cream in public, he should scoop it out of a bowl with a spoon.”

Imagine depriving yourself of the joys of a waffle cone because you're too hung up on appearing manly, but it's always the softest boys who worry about this stuff. I mean, come on:

Quote
Watters was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of Stephen Hapgood Watters, a teacher, and child psychologist Anne Purvis, daughter of Morton Bailey, Jr., publisher of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Her grandfather, Morton Bailey, published The Saturday Evening Post; his father was the politician Morton S. Bailey. Watters' paternal grandfather, Dr Franklin Benjamin Watters, was a cardiologist at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Newington, Connecticut, and a professor at the University of Connecticut Medical Dental School.

Dark Brandon has cut the deficit by $1.4 trillion dollars. Remember when some people used to think that Republicans were better stewards of the economy?

It's amazing how high Trump got the deficit when you can forgive student loans and still bring it down by $1.4 trillion.
Trump being totally incompetent with handling COVID is not the excuse you think it is.

You’re still completely misinformed.  The covid relief that’s ending is Biden’s from 2021.

Have you never seen the deficit correlation with Republican presidents? Always up with them and down with Dems, except for Carter.

President’s don’t control spending.  Congress does.

Presidents (no apostrophe) have a veto if they don't like what they see.

Republican congresses have given Democrat presidents line item vetoes.  The same can’t be said of Democrat congresses.
If we look at the period of large surpluses during the Clinton presidency, it came as a result of Republicans winning congress in 94, and sending spending bills to the president that were much lower than he wanted.  He vetoed some, but eventually caved.
On the contrary, Democrat congresses send Republican presidents spending bills much higher than asked for.  You can veto some, but eventually government needs to be funded, and you can’t veto them all unless you want the government to shut down indefinitely.  You can thank me for this civics lesson later.

Trump was president when the Republicans controlled the House of Representatives and the Senate, and still came up with record deficits.

Actually it was only until 2018.  From 2018 to 2020 Democrats controlled all of congress.

Uh huh. And how record-breakingly astronomical were the deficits when the Republicans controlled Congress and the executive?
I'll give you a hint: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/15/us/politics/federal-deficit-2018-trump-tax-cuts.html

And you continue to fall for it. 😂
