There is a world where attempting to murder a judge and peddling lies that your opponent stole an election so you can try to win it are both wrong things done by human pieces of crap.
Yeah but here's the difference...
Nobody on Democrat side (at least not in a leadership position) was encouraging people to attack judges. Nobody is demanding Biden pardon him. He was (for the most part) a "lone nut case".
On the other hand, the lie that the "election was stolen" has been pushed by the former Republican president. Top-level advisors to Trump have repeated the lie. And almost every republican congress-critter either has supported Trump in the big lie, or at least turned the other way (a tacit acceptance) when Trump was impeached the second time. And while there are some republicans who have said Trump was wrong about the election being stolen, they also tend to say that "yes, they would vote for Trump again if he were the next Republican candidate".
Unlike the 'lone nut case', the republican acceptance of the big lie is deeply ingrained within the party, infecting pretty much everyone.
