This particular mass shooting for some reason spurred Tucker Carlson to open his show with a sad comment on it. Couldn't be because he felt the heat after saying the LGBTQ community is sexualizing children?

Gunman kills 5 at LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs before patrons confront and stop him, police say

Lot of layers to this one.

1. Shooter is a 22 year old white male; good chance this is a hate crime motivated by the likes of Libs of Tik Tok and others whipping up hate against the LGBTQ community.
2. Shooter had been previously arrested last year for making a bomb threat against his own mother, but was still able to legally purchase two firearms and ammo.
...
It is quite possible that the police might be partly on the hook for this event...

...Anderson Lee Aldrich allegedly threatened his mother with a homemade bomb... there’s no public record that prosecutors moved forward with felony kidnapping and menacing charges...or that police or relatives tried to trigger Colorado’s “red flag” law that would have allowed authorities to seize the weapons and ammo the man’s mother says he had with him....the law that allows guns to be removed from people deemed dangerous to themselves or others has seldom been used in the state...El Paso County appears especially hostile to the law. It joined nearly 2,000 counties nationwide in declaring themselves “Second Amendment Sanctuaries”

This particular mass shooting for some reason spurred Tucker Carlson to open his show with a sad comment on it. Couldn't be because he felt the heat after saying the LGBTQ community is sexualizing children?

Did he tho? First he dismissed the possibility of anti LGBTQ motive then launched into an attack on gender affirming care and whined "why is everyone blaming me for inciting hate on my daily hate-incitement show?"

To his credit, he actually said one honest thing:

Quote
When you point out the truth, indisputably, and the truth is that some adults in this country, apparently a growing number, have a deeply unhealthy fixation on the sexuality of children...

This is true, except the people with the "deeply unhealthy fixation on the sexuality of children" are Tucker, Matt Walsh, Chaya Raychik et al and they should be viewing the world from the inside of a pine box afaic.

Conservatives: "You woke lefties with your degenerate displays of sexuality are why people become Nazis!"

Also conservatives: "WAAAAA shifting blame to those who have certain viewpoints is not only unjust; it's actually insulting to the victims, because it takes away responsibility for the atrocity from the actual criminal. It paints the evil killer as almost a helpless actor without agency who was brainwashed to commit the crime by all the Mean Words from Team Red. In reality, the murderer had agency and chose to commit this atrocity, meaning 100 percent of the blame lies with him and him alone. Also goo goo gaa gaa."

You mean to tell me the police don't like doing their jobs and really hate it when others tell them they should?

Apparently the Colorado Springs shooter was telling people about wanting to be a mass shooter for a long time and police knew about it.

Quote
In the three-page affidavit from 2021, investigators believe Aldrich told his family he planned to carry out a mass shooting. About 18 months ago, the arrest papers add deputies were called out to a home near Marksheffel and Fontaine.

Sources tell us Aldrich lived with his grandparents. Arrests papers state after his grandparents told him they were selling their home, Aldrich held them at gunpoint. The papers go on to say Aldrich said if they moved it would interfere with his plans to carry out a mass shooting and bombing.

Prosecutors didn't prosecute.  You gotta love when the defund the police crowd, and the no cash bail crowd, and abolish jails crowd, get their way, and then when it blows up in their faces, they complain about it.

He wasn't even charged you gibbering shitmonkey. Cops let him off.

Kill yourself, please.

The shooter's dad was more worried that, because he was at a gay bar, his son was gay. Because they are MAGA republicans.
Watching the video though made me wonder about the correlation between MAGA Republicanism and meth addiction. They seem to have risen in popularity in lockstep.

Even more than that, I doubt the El Paso county (where the gay nightclub shooting occurred) is big on the whole "defund the police/justice reform" movement.

I mean, if anything the whole shooting debacle is an example of how the current system DOESN'T work. Yet Shady seems to want to double down on a failed system.

Plus I am pretty sure shady doesn't really understand what any of those potential reforms actually mean... 'defund the police' does not mean totally abolish police forces; it means shift some of their funding AND RESPONSIBILITIES onto other groups.

Yeah, Colorado Springs is notoriously extremely conservative. It's where Focus on the Family is located and where a deranged fascist shot up a Planned Parenthood clinic a few years back.

To people with functioning brains, sure.

You didn't really need the last 8 words here.

To serve (themselves) and protect (themselves).

Quote
Almost a year after Texas’ deadliest school shooting killed 19 children and two teachers, there is still confusion among investigators, law enforcement leaders and politicians over how nearly 400 law enforcement officers could have performed so poorly. People have blamed cowardice or poor leadership or a lack of sufficient training for why police waited more than an hour to breach the classroom and subdue an amateur 18-year-old adversary.

But in their own words, during and after their botched response, the officers pointed to another reason: They were unwilling to confront the rifle on the other side of the door.

A Texas Tribune investigation, based on police body cameras, emergency communications and interviews with investigators that have not been made public, found officers had concluded that immediately confronting the gunman would be too dangerous. Even though some officers were armed with the same rifle, they opted to wait for the arrival of a Border Patrol SWAT team, with more protective body armor, stronger shields and more tactical training — even though the unit was based more than 60 miles away.

“You knew that it was definitely an AR,” Uvalde Police Department Sgt. Donald Page said in an interview with investigators after the school shooting. “There was no way of going in. … We had no choice but to wait and try to get something that had better coverage where we could actually stand up to him.”

“We weren’t equipped to make entry into that room without several casualties,” Uvalde Police Department Detective Louis Landry said in a separate investigative interview. He added, “Once we found out it was a rifle he was using, it was a different game plan we would have had to come up with. It wasn’t just going in guns blazing, the Old West style, and take him out.”
