I'm inclined to believe something happened with Reade and Biden in 1993, though we'll never know the specifics since her own story has changed from being about creepy behaviour and abuse of power to one of full on sexual assault, and I think it more likely she was courted by right-wing interests as a result as opposed to being some kind of honeypot or something.
