Sam Harris With some Needed Explanations on Trump.

Sam always has something important to say, for those who can spare a half hour to listen.

The only thing he goes wrong on is saying that none of Trump's supporters believe Trump was cheated. Why Sam would say that is a mystery. He could have said that no rational person would believe that.

Any way, you could, you know, avoid starting a new thread for every Trump related topic?

Sorry. This is meant to be a thread that looks at how Sam Harris is seeing the Trump situation. I thought it would be a useful contribution to the forum in a time when there's not much more happening but onelingers and profanity coming from the spammers. Should I delete it?

Thank you for your contribution to my thread! Did you spend 30 minutes listening to Sam?  It's pretty well right on the mark and easy enough for you to understand.

I'll explain further if this thread gets anymore interest?

And so assuming this topic won't get any serious attention now, and taking into consideration what Sam Harris has to say, here's my analysis of how it's going to go now in the US for the next 4 years. Barring the possibility of some political assassination by somebody on one side, on somebody on the other side, that will defuse the timebomb.

America will soon settle in to having their Trump in exile at Mara Lago. He'll direct the actions of the Republican congress from there and it will concentrated on stopping Biden from accomplishing anything!

That is, even if Biden actually tries to accomplish something? It's more likely that the Dems' supporters are going to be watching Kamala's moves much more closely than Biden's. Kamala is going to be another real threat to America's racism problem. Making it worse by empowering non-whites to make America better in the long run. There'll most likely be buckets of blood on America's streets, but the fight must come sooner or later.

Something like the Trump phenomena had to come to America and it's far from decided on when it will have to go away!

I listened to this.

This should be the definitive word of Trump's status as America's greatest criminal.

"You really have played a game of chicken with our democracy. ... This is not partisanship.  This has never been a difference of opinion.  You have protected a man who was manifestly unfit to be president.

Harris shines when it comes to clarity and he is attacking the events of the current day with urgency.

Glad you took the time to watch it MH! I think some of the others have too but they wouldn't want us to know.

The only surprise I found in Sam's analysis was him saying that none of Trump's supporters believe Trump was cheated. At the time, most of them did, but he may have been looking forward to now when the number still thinking of cheating has likely dropped to less than half.

I'm pretty sure Trump will hang on at Mara Lago for a long time, publicly advising the Republican congress. A president in exile so to speak!
And a direct insult to Biden!

It's all good and it could get a lot better.

Everybody should check out the two networks, OANN and Newsmax!

Oh and Breitbart has as their top story: #WAR?

1. It's a listen.
2. I didn't hear him say that.
3. The Republicans will have to cut themselves loose from this.  They and the Democrats should work on that effort together as it's in the common interest.  In the end, Trump should be a bent old man - broke and broken in Florida - Tweeting bullshit.
4. How is ANY of this good ?

1. It's a listen.
You're right. My mistake.

2. I didn't hear him say that.
He said it but I'm not going to listen again to prove it.

Maybe some time in the future they will cut from Trump, but not for quite a while because they have a winning strategy working. If they win the two Senate seats in Wisconsin, it will be a complete wrap. And fwiw, not having to officially contend with Trump is probably seen as a plus for them. So we'll have to watch fro quite a while yet.

4. How is ANY of this good ?

Deligitimizing Biden's presidency is tremendously good for the Republican's agenda. They can win despite losing the presidency.

Harris didn't say what you think he said.  Harris draws a sharp line between Trump and his enablers (his family, Rudy and other lawyers, certain media operations, and various congressmen and senators and government officials) vs the average Trump supporter on the street.   Many Trump supporters do believe that the election is rigged. But Trump and his enablers (the aforementioned lawyers, media people, etc) know damned well that Trump lost.

Trump and his people are continuing to attempt to undermine the election for their own personal gain, and part of their efforts to do that include this concerted effort to deceive the average voter on the street. Trump and his entourage are deceiving typical voters for several reasons:
-to pave the way for future political campaigns by either Trump or his children.
 -to raise money from them.
-to sell his future book, raise an audience for his inevitable post-presidency media career, and so on.
-Trump-supporting media are using this to build their audience.
-this is also being used for political purposes (undermine Biden presidency, support Senate races in Georgia, create instability, preparation for 2022 elections, etc).

Harris is trying to explain to you that we need to be understanding of the 70 million people who voted for Trump and have believed his claims and bought into his promises, while not forgiving or forgetting Trump and his enablers who are continuing to damage the country by deliberately attempting to undermine trust in democracy.

Everybody should check out the two networks, OANN and Newsmax!

We already have a Donald Trump thread. Why not just post this in the Donald Trump thread?

fkng brilliant! You tell me he didn't say what I think he said and then go on to validate that which I think he said!

Yeah that, more or less at least. I thought you were trying to disagree with me on something?

I can't really disagree with any of that, even though it's rather clumsy in the wording. You just state that they're trying to undermine democracy, while I've said the same thing but provided an explanation for it all.

Stop trying to tell me that sources of information from the far-side is garbage. Your thinking on the issues could be much clearer if you didn't disqualify yourself from knowing and understanding the full Trump agenda and the agenda of those who will continue to support him.
It's fking annoying and it's quite pointless!

Is your brain too full to be able to absorb information on the plans and aspirations of the Trump side?

Good work MH! You're told him/her/it that it's right, while at the same time demonstrating that 'it's' wrong.

And on the positive side, you're gone and shared what you learned with him/her/it!
