Apparently, his go-to-campaignBrainiacs have told him Amash will take more votes away from (presumably) Biden, than from Trump himself.
Probably.
The Trumptards will vote Trump regardless.
Swing voters who voted Trump last time but realized they made a big mistake might have been planning to vote Biden but now have an alternative. I think this probably takes more votes from Biden than from Trump. Whether that's enough to make a difference in the "battleground states" remains to be seen. Amash isn't exactly a big name, and independent candidates don't matter much.
