And frankly, that people like you will make excuses for what amounts to an undemocratic criminal enterprise (the GOP) is sad AF.

How am I making excuses for the GOP?  I don't like the GOP and I already agreed with you that they gerrmander and already try to rig elections in other ways.  Myy point was that they can't gerrymader the POTUS.

I'm not saying the US doesn't lean Democrat vs GOP.  As for whether the US is progressive or not, that depends on your definition, there's obviously different levels of being progressive.  Bernie and AOC are more progressive than Biden and Hillary and Obama.  My point is that Americans aren't as far to the left as the media makes us believe.  Major media out of NYC and LA and twitter users are not representative of the US population as a whole.  A lot of Americans might like Obama, but many might also think Bernie is too far to the left for them, that's what happened in the 2016 primaries where Bernie didn't have support in the southern states like he did in the North.

Oh yes they can. Perhaps look up what is meant by "cracking" and "packing" electoral districts. It certainly worked for Trump.

:D Note my language, with which I am careful:

Trump *could* use...

I don't think it's likely...

I don't remember where I have seen it, but I would say it was serious posters on message boards I guess...

I think it is quite a stretch, the Civil War and WW2 didn't stop presidential elections. It's hard to imagine what kind of excuse Trump could dream up that would justify postponing an election.

The excuse he threatened not so long ago was over his wall funding. He conceded he would probably be overruled at the 9th circuit but pondered if he could be successful at the SCOTUS. I seem also to recall him speaking to a room full of his nitwit MAGA shirt wearers that he could overturn the two term policy. He sort of appeared to be joking but I'll venture a guess his ego would be sufficient for him to give it a serious try.

Besides Maine and Nevada, there's no "electoral districts" in the Electoral College, besides the states themselves.  The EC is state by state, where the winner of the popular vote in each state takes all the electoral college votes.

You're confusing the House of Representatives districts with the POTUS elections.

Congressional districts is what you are looking for.

I'm quoting you.

So then you do now understand how gerrymandering can effect the election of a POTUS.

No.  You've yet to show any evidence.

Congressional districts are for electing Congress (House of Reps), hence the name.  Just admit you were wrong and stop digging your hole deeper.

Omni, I live and vote in the United States. You are wrong. You know not what you are talking about. Graham's right: why can't you quit before you're too far behind on this one?

Only two states use congressional districts to elect electors. In the other 48 states and DC, congressional districts having nothing to do with the electoral college. Jeeze, am I speaking Chinese?

The GOP used gerrymandering to get Trump into office well before the election. And as an American I thought you would understand how that works/worked.

Maybe read up a bit of history on who Elbridge Gerry was and how he started the program and who has used it most effectively throughout the years.

The congressional districts--which are what's gerrymandered--are NOT used for the election of electors. That's all I am going to say because I am evidently talking to a ******* wall.

Also, NEITHER house of the Congress picks the president, or affects who is going to be president in the next election. The composition of the House of Representatives (which party has the majority) doesn't always coincide with which party takes the White House. American or not, I evidently understand how it works a lot better than you do.
