You are socially and fiscally conservative. You express contempt of anyone you consider 'leftist' in the least, not just far left. Calling yourself a centrist is ridiculous.
I express contempt for people who act in a contemptible fashion. I discuss things politely with people who post in a polite fashion. I've been pretty consistent with that, although there have been occasional lapses, I admit, especially when dealing with anti-Semites or the likes of Hot Enough, say, who are just brainlessly anti-Western. With you, your habit of rushing to the defense of Muslims every time there's an outrage, and frantically searching out some comparable 'crime' a Christian has committed is illogical and silly, and I tend to be less respectful towards it. When you try to tell me how great life is for women in the Muslim world I can't help just roll my eyes.
Socially conservative? I'm pro-choice, though reluctant because I see it as wasteful. I don't support the death penalty because I don't trust the justice system to get things right. I'm in favor (mostly) of lgbt rights. In terms of gender I'm, if not a feminist, an equallist. I think any woman who can prove she's as good as a man should have an equal shot at a job or promotion. I'm strongly in favour of public education and public health care and have called for public pharmacare. I'm in favour of greatly increased and expanded skills and educational training for the unemployed or unemployable. I would like to see greatly enhanced mental health services as well as drug and alcohol treatment facilities. I support public transit and livable cities. I'm an environmentalist - a sensible one, the kind you don't see much of on TV.
