Is student groups supporting the genocide of Jews on Oct 7, or even blaming Jews for it, the same as speaking out about trans athletes? Sounds like one is overlooked and the other is punished. The whole "free speech" thing is nonsense. There's harassment, there's rules of behaviour they enforce on campus in these same places that also set up safe spaces, trigger warnings, preach microaggressions, and DEI. But supporting the targeted murder of a racial group is free speech? They're have hypocritical double-standards.
What would your reaction be if right-wing students and student groups and some conservative profs came out and supported the Christchurch massacre of Muslims?
This is such BS. Israel was getting called out in protests and social media for 'genocide' and suddenly this red herring campaign started about "River to the Sea" being about (gasp) GENOCIDE. No no no, Israel can't commit genocide you see, because these people are out here yelling for Palestinian rights.
Or fine, let's take it in the context of erasing Israel as a nation and giving the land to Arabs. Isn't that EXACTLY what several Israeli politicians have said about Palestinians, not even metaphorically like a river to the sea, but quite literally let's kick them out and take their land -- yet when those statements are presented to the ICC as intent of genocide, gosh no. That's not genocide, not when Israel says it. They're just kidding you see.
A bunch of college kids screaming is genocide but actual cabinet ministers of Israel saying the reverse, no siree, nothing to see here. So you wanna go on about double standards of protected speech depending on whether or not you agree with the message, well there you go!
I shall define "River to the Sea" as genocidal, whether or not you agree, and I will make a show of it by saying you're calling for genocide of Jews.
Err, no. Nobody (at Harvard anyway) was calling for genocide of Jews. The whole thing was a strawman from beginning to end.
