These families suffered the pain and horror of having their children killed, and not as soldiers defending their country in a foreign war zone were you might anticipate such a possibility, but in a classroom in a high school just down the street, and a scumbag **** like Alex Jones generates his revenue by generating conspiracy theories that suggest it was all just "fake news". I hope they are able to suck every last nickel out of his pocket and then kick his ass down the road. That would be great but then their is the frightful reality that there are something like 3.2 million people who tune into Infowars on a daily basis to have their brains sucked out of there heads a tad more. That's scary! But lets see, today we had Harvey Weinstein in court in handcuffs, Jones will have to appear in court soon (although not on anything criminal...yet) so maybe the thing to do would be to prepare a cell of an appropriate size to house a sex offender, a brutal liar. and then later on, after Trump gets impeached and has to deal with his sex offender history, they can move over and let him in. The world would be at least a little bit safer place.

Unfortunately it might be difficult to win the lawsuit:

The First Amendment does not protect defamation, which is broadly defined as false statements that cause someone harm. Still, the families of the Sandy Hook victims, as well as the FBI agent included in the lawsuit, might have a hard time winning the case, as Rich Barlow explained in a piece for WBUR’s Cognoscenti:

“To win damages, the plaintiffs must prove Jones either knew his hoax claims were false or recklessly disregarded whether they were true, a former law professor told Texas Monthly: ‘What I understand is that he’ll say these things at one point, and then later on, he’ll say, ‘Of course I know that wasn’t true.’ If he says things, and then says he knows it wasn’t true, he’s in trouble.’”

They won't be able to prove he knew they were false.  They might be able to prove that he "recklessly disregarded" whether they were true, though. That seems like a lower burden.
