Above all else I hope that the outcome is decisive enough that this thing does not come down to court challenges and recounts. I am hoping for an outcome that is very clear so that the losing side has to accept it.
I think it is going to be a very weird night.
A year ago last week, we watched as Trudeau started his victory speech a minute into Andrew Scheer's speech. "Rude!" "Uncouth!" "Bad form!" we all agreed. Compared to what we're going to see tonight, that is nothing. Things are going to get very strange and we're going to see stuff we never thought we'd see in a western democracy.
My prediction is that Trump will declare victory early on after a few of the Deep South states give him a resounding win. His walnut sized brain will take a snapshot of the EC votes at that moment as confirmation that he won the election. As votes from later time zones come in he will see the results turning against him he will dismiss those results as "mail-in FRAUD votes" being counted, and demand that the results from the early-evening snapshot in his walnut sized brain be restored. He is psychologically incapable of considering the possibility that he loses, and will post any conspiracy theories that support the idea that the election was "stolen" or "rigged".
