I'm looking forward to the Trump surrogates assertion that none of these people ever had any contact with the Trump campaign.

I imagine 50 some pages of indictments is way more reading than Trump can handle but apparently he has been briefed by Rosenstein so I also imagine he is fuming. This puts a few more dents in his attempt to call the Russian meddling a "hoax", and could well bring the whole thing closer to the oval office. I wonder if it will interfere with his golf game down in Florida.

On another board, I see this saying all the time and I'm starting to ... love it:

"Wake me up for the frogwalk..."

I will start using it here now.

I like how the burden now is that it's unprovable that these measures affected the election.

That's like asking for proof campaign ads helped and/or hurt a candidate.

I can see that being used as a defence when Congress refuses to impeach Trump after the full Mueller Investigation has been made public.

It's the same argument they use to avoid any kind of firearms legislation.

The metaphysical defense, I suppose.

I don't think that a 'smoking gun' of asking the Russians to hep would be impacted by such an argument.

Remember, nothing here is impeachable yet.  That Russians campaigned on behalf of Trump isn't something Trump can be impeached for.  Collusion between Trump campaign and Russians, on the other hand, would be highly damning.  The real money isn't in these troll-farm indictments. It's in finding connections between people like Donnie Jr, Flynn, Manafort, Sessions, "the Kush", and so on, and Russian apparatchik.  (did I use that word right? I've been trying to expand my vocabulary.)
