I suggest consolidating the provincial politics forums or at the very least combine the Atlantic provinces. Nobody talks about **** going on out here and there's so few people from out this way that the forums are going to sit empty for a long time.

I can do that - I didn't want to seem like I was picking favourites.

It's up to you. When a forum is small and starting out, it's usually better to have fewer forums, imo. It makes the various sections a little more active.

I mostly did it that way so it wouldn't look like I was copying other forums.

Im not trying to crap on your efforts here, and im more curious than anything, but what does it cost to run a forum on a more sorted software like vbulletin, etc.

To be honest, I don't have a clue.  This is more of an experiment than anything to see if we can actually get and keep discussion.  If it's successful, I can look at moving things to a better product.

To be honest, as a simple guy, I don't mind the simplicity.  It's not fancy or anything, but, it could be worse.

Just checking in to see how this experiment is going. I didn't register via twitter because the application wanted to post twits and I really hate that happening automatically. Will check out rest of functionality, but of course participation is always the key.

I wonder what happened to the old site that this one is gaining traction so quick?

I think we need a forum on Turkey, and how wonderful it is, and how its brave president is saving it from terrorism from all those people who disagree with him, and how one day he'll rule the world.

Also, forty seven forums on Israel, please.

On the other hand, a number of suggestions were made on another forum I use (cough-cough) and some of them might be adapted to this one.
I particularly liked the one which had a forum for editorial cartoons. Who doesn't like looking at them?

Perhaps, since we're so small, we could start a thread in the General Discussion Forum?  If we get bigger (please encourage people to come here, I'm having trouble getting more) we can make more sub forums, and I can move things around.   This forum software is somewhat limited, but is very simple to manipulate.

BTW Cyber - how do you feel about the provincial forums now?  Is that a better compromise?

I dunno, seems kind of arbitrary. I don't really care how you divide it up. It's just that individual forums will be slow. The territories one will be really slow too though. So it doesn't much matter.
