Post Rating System
« on: February 04, 2017, 10:36:50 pm »
The post rating system can either be turned on or off - there is no opportunity for me to manipulate the choices.  Would you prefer it to be on, or off?  I prefer it off, as I think it just distracts, but I know at least one member prefers it turned on.  I will not vote in the poll except to break a tie.

BTW, I have now set it so this poll will close on the morning of February 9th.

In this case, I think it's alright. I'm surprised there's so many choices. At the end of the day I don't care either way, but I like it a hell of a lot more than the rating system at MLW.

I voted no but I want to change that to yes.

The rating system on the posts is fine. It is rating other members that I do not like - too clique and subject to a herd mentality.

You are now able to change your vote.

That's what I like about this one compared to "others."

After experimenting with a reputation system at another forum that shall remain the "forum that shall not be named" I find the it waaaaayyyy too cliquey.  ;D

When insightful and intelligent posters have negative reputation and posters incapable of reason and logic, who simply cut and paste links from conservative christian and alt-right blogs have the highest reputation on the forum, that should tell you all you need to know about the company that you're keeping.

Yeah, that was quite hilarious, especially after all the whining from the alt-right posters about how they would be such victims of a rating system.

I don't pay attention to it much either way.

I voted against but I don't really care if they are rated. I don't troll, my posts are what I think, so there.

I did that.  I saw a poster had negative rep so I gave her all 20 of mine one day.  Because the whole idea is silly.

I imagine that's what most people are doing now.

Well, it wasn't me or the_squid.  We both vowed never to do that.

It's positive all the way, and based on one thing:  Compassion.

I meant here.  The last little symbol at the bottom (the box) means dumb.
