I'm going to post an idea with all the charm of a high school hall monitor here:
I see a lot of people posting about economic issues with the baseline of what is "fair" and with no mention of what is sustainable. These posts remind me of the kind of dialogue that happened in the early 20th century, which led to hard left-wing politics (for the time). This is where we are going, I think.
While I personally agree with moral economic arguments, I think online discussion about economic matters would generally be more useful to our emerging digital political culture if we at least kept in mind that the issues at play are more complex than simply getting more from the usual suspects, ie. the wealthy, the 1%, the robber-barons. That said, I will point out again that I agree with morality and for general discussion it's a good starting point to highlight how things have changed over time.
Let's just look forward to a time when we will actually be able to talk about more complicated (and cold) facts such as trade-offs online.
