I recently stumbled on to "the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club". One might think that with a name like that, they might sound like Molly Hatchet or Motorhead, but they're actually quite different. Although some of their material is straightforward rock, many of their songs are moody and melancholy. One thing that makes them stand out is that the female drummer provides some wonderful backing vocals, kind of like Nikki Monninger, the bass-player from Silversun Pickups.
They also recorded a cover of "Let The Day Begin", by "the Call". It turns out that the lead singer of The Call is the father of the lead singer of BMRC, and they recorded it after he passed away.
