I'm just happy O'Leary didn't win.  Interesting how young the CPC and Liberal leaders are.

Yeah, if Niki Ashton wins NDP, Trudeau is going to be the oldest one at 45!  :)

The best part is Kelly Leitch getting completely crushed. She finished 7th on the first ballot. So much for "Canadian" values. She doesn't even have Conservative values.

Electoral irregularities....    these seem to be a regular occurrence with the CPC, including in general elections.

I think they have a lot of people with very low moral values when it comes to cheating in elections.

Is the Manning Centre still a thing outside of Alberta?  Do other MPs care what they think?  Maybe this should go in the Provincial section of the forum....

Quote
The Calgary-based Manning Centre will feature American conservative radio host Dennis Prager as one of its keynote speakers at a conference next month, a fiery and often controversial figure who recently complained that the left has made it "impossible" to say the N-word.

"It's disgusting, it's a farce. It's the only word that you can't say in the English language," Prager said in a clip

I'm sure if Prager is busy, Rush Limbaugh would be available to stand in and fulfill the role.

Michele Rempel signed the Buffalo chip agreement to hold Canada hostage to Alberta.
Not a good look for someone who also wants to hypothetically lead the country.

They should just rename the Conservative Party the Bloc Alberta, and be a regional separatist party.

Really? They won every seat in Saskatchewan and more seats than any other party in BC and Manitoba.

With the National Post editorial calling for a real climate plan, it feels like the Cons are finally going to cut the yahoos loose.  I never understood the math in chasing the 2% who would vote for Bernier while shutting out 2/3 of voters who want a climate plan.

They got rid of a bigot...   how this relates to the CPC stance (or lack thereof) on climate issues, I’m not sure.   How are you equating the two?

Well...  McKay is continuing the CPC idiocy when it comes to climate change.

So, I guess even the CPC’s most progressive candidate is still shutting out the 2/3 who want a climate plan.

Looks like the race is still on...    tone deaf?  Innapropriate?  I think it’s both of those things.  It can wait until the pandemic is long done, and things are back to “normal”.   Never mind that the race is pathetically devoid of good people....

One of the lessons for the Conservatives from the last election was about its failure to resonate with and understand the general electorate. Perhaps the LEOC believes that this leadership race is simply a Conservative Party matter, and that it can worry about other Canadians – the ones it will have to appeal to in a general election – later, when this is all over. But those other Canadians are nevertheless witnesses to what’s happening now, and all they’re seeing is a party so out of touch with the average Canadian that it’s carrying on a leadership race while many people are trying to keep their heads above water. If the committee would take a moment to breathe the air outside the Conservative bubble, it might realize how trivial and idiotic this all seems.

I want direct democracy voting on policy so all Canadians can bypass all these moron politicians in Parliament.  I trust Canadians more than all these power-seeking dweebs.
